SUCCESSFUL 2016 UK NATIONAL RALLY AT HATTON COUNTRY WORLD
The Club held it's UK 2016 annual rally over the weekend of 10th -
12th June with a welcome return to Hatton Country World in Warwickshire,
& despite some changeable weather, it was dry enough at the right
times to enable us to enjoy the Saturday afternoon road run, & have a
get together around the display of cars on Sunday afternoon & make
the usual awards to the best of each class at the show. Enjoy the rest of the summer -
here's some photos from the rally.

New radial tyres on my 4/50
On a personal
note, driving up to Hatton on damp roads was enough to persuade me to at
last give up on my cross ply tyres, & get a modern set of radials.
Looking around & asking Club members, the Vredestein Sport
Classics came out well on looks compared to the tall cross plies, &
the equivalent size to my old 5.50 x 15's seemed to be 165/R15, so I've
now got a full set on all 5 wheels plus brand new inner tubes, & I'm
looking forward to a more compliant ride, & to NOT sliding the back
end of the car out on wet roundabouts!

6/80 & MO Club announces death of Public Relations Officer, Colin Poland
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of our irrepressible Public Relations Officer, Colin Poland, on Good Friday 25th March 2016, after an 18 month battle with cancer. Colin bounced on to our Club committee at the 2010 AGM, & brought with him an infectious energy, enthusiasm & can-do attitude, and committee meetings were never quite the same – and now can never be the same again. Colin was just bursting with ideas, & the best bit was that he was ready willing & able to work hard himself to bring those ideas to life. He was just so enthusiastic about promoting our Club, & was forever coming up with new ideas for us to discuss, chew over, & accept or reject. He will be greatly missed by all his friends in the 6/80 & MO Club & the wider classic car world. Colin was the driving force behind our Club stand at the NEC shows, & here he is at the show last November - quite poorly by this stage, but just chuffed to bits to be there on the Club stand. Goodbye Colin, & thanks for enriching our lives.
