Did you spot that we have a new name??
Delighted to report that at the AGM of the 6/80 & MO Club on 15th October 2017, the members voted overwhelmingly to incorporate the previous members of the old Morris Cowley & Oxford Club, so we have now become the '6/80 & MO Oxford & Cowley Club' to represent the expanded range of vehicles that we now cover.
For more details, please click on our logo on the right which will take you to our web site, which is gradually being updated to reflect the changes.
If any members of the MCOC want to join the newly expanded Club, please go to the web site & click on 'The Club' & then select 'Joining' from the drop-down menu.
A big WELCOME to all the MCOC Members joining us!

6/80 CLUB ANNUAL UK RALLY - 5TH/6TH AUGUST 2017
Went up to the 6/80 & MO Club UK Annual Rally at Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire, & we had a great weekend with pretty decent weather. The rally was hosted by the Morris Register & was also the official Morris Vehicles Association (MVA) rally, so we had a good selection of cars on show.
My 4/50 tackled the 300 mile round trip plus the 50 mile road run on the Saturday afternoon without any problems, & took home the Best 4/50 Cup again (only because Ron Woods with his lovely 4/50 could only be there for the Saturday!). It was also the Club's 40th Anniversary celebration, so it was good to have so many members there, & we enjoyed an excellent anniversary cake & some bubbly to mark the occasion at lunch time on the Sunday. All round, a great weekend!

What's the chances of this??
Have a look at these number plates - my 1952 Wolseley 4/50 & a year-old courtesy car that was delivered to me today. I don't know much about number plates, but it seems rather a coincidence to me that they are separated by 64 years & many miles, but share the 'MYO'??
Spooky!!

NEW AIR DUCTING FOR MY WOLSELEY 4/50
Having been looking under the bonnet of my 4/50 whilst doing the recent service, I realised that the air ducting to & from the fresh air heater fan were in pretty poor condition - looking bad & leaking air in & out! So, I decided to do some Ebay searching for some new ducting to fit the 4" inlet & 3" outlet spigots. My first trial was with metal flex at the nearest appropriate size, which proved too small to fit the 3" outlet side, but the 4" just about fitted on the inlet with a little cut to splay it slightly.
The metal flex didn't look quite right though, & didn't fit properly anyway, so I went for the neoprene option which comes in 102mm for the 4" & 76mm for 3". This looks far better, & the 102mm was a good fit, although to get the 76mm on I had to cut out a couple of the wire reinforcement coils & the string binding, & even then it was a real fiddle to get it on. However, they're both now in place, held tight with new hose clips, so it's looking a lot smarter under the bonnet, & is airtight again! See below.
Best wishes, Pat Carroll

TIME TO GET YOUR CLASSIC OUT OF THE GARAGE!
Spring has sprung - the sun has come out, & it's time to get your classic out of the garage & on the road! Time to wash off the winter dust, give it a service, & blow those cobwebs out of the exhaust with a good run out to check that everything's working as it should for the new season.
I've just bought a new can of engine oil, & ordered an oil filter from club stock, so I'll be carrying out a scheduled 3,000 mile service on my 4/50 this week. So it'll be grease gun filled up, & fluids to check all round as the weather is looking favourable over the next few days. I'm looking forward to getting in some more miles on my new radial tyres which I put on at the end of last season, as they did seem a real improvement over the old cross plies I had on before.
Enjoy your classic motoring for a new season, & click on our logo to the right to visit our web site.
Best wishes, Patrick Carroll, Club President
