Out for a pub lunch at last!

Coronavirus restrictions eased sufficiently to allow an outing in the 4/50 to The Squirrrel at Penn Street, Bucks, for a first post-lockdown pub lunch!

ALL DRESSED UP & NOWHERE TO GO!!

I've washed the winter's dust off my Wolseley 4/50 (the moderns will have to wait until the car wash re-opens!), but I feel guilty about taking it out for a spin during the lockdown, although it couldn't possibly put me or anyone else at risk.  I might just sneak it out around the block, to loosen everything up & stop the brakes from sticking 😉

NEC Classic Car & Restoration Show 2020

We now hear that the show has provisionally been postponed to the 7th - 9th August, which will clash with the Club's annual rally, if either go ahead!?  Let's wait & see.

NEC Classic Car & Restoration Show CANCELLED

Sorry folks, but the organisers of the NEC Show on 27th - 29th March 2020 have officially postponed it to a date to be notified in the future, due to the coronavirus outbreak.  We'll let you know as soon as we have a new date, but I guess that could be some time.  Keep safe!

CHRISTMAS 2019

NEC Classic Car Show 8th - 10th November 2019

Well done to our team, led by PRO Sheelagh McHardy, for another very successful show stand at the NEC.  Apparently there were 78,000 visitors to the show over the 3 days, & an awful lot of them seemed to have ended up visiting our stand!  Thanks to all the team.

It's NEC Classic Motor Show Time!!

Another successful rally at Hatton Country World

Well, we just about got away with the weather for our 2019 UK rally over the weekend of 15th/16th June.  It was very wet when poor Sheelagh arrived to start setting up in the Friday, still wasn't great on Saturday, although the road run went well, & we had a mostly fine day for Sunday, with just one short downpour that sent us scuttling for cover.  All in all though, a successful weekend, so many thanks to David Ferguson & Sheelagh McHardy for the organisation.

CLUB ANNUAL UK RALLY - 15TH/16TH JUNE 2019

Looking forward now to a return to an old haunt - Hatton Adventure World in Warwickshire - for our UK Annual Rally over the weekend of 15th/16th June. (https://hattonworld.com/)
Camping is available from the Friday, & there's a road run around the Warwickshire countryside from 1pm on the Saturday.  Look forward to seeing you there - here's a taster from the road run from last time we were there in 2016.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

Club AGM at Oxford Bus Museum 14th October 2018

Nice visit to the Oxford Bus Museum last Sunday for our 2018 AGM.  Bit disappointing that we didn't get more members attending (outnumbered by Committee!), but we do at least have a full Committee this year, & the Morris section of the museum had an ex-club car as its centrepiece - Stan & Trevor Nall's lovely MO OLJ 248.  

We may be back for next year's AGM - if we can negotiate a better rate!

Run out to Cliveden House in the October sun

It was a gloriously warm & sunny October day yesterday here in the UK, so I couldn't resist taking my 4/50 out for a spin.  We went to Cliveden House near Maidenhead for a stroll around their lovely grounds, followed by lunch in a nearby pub garden.  Great outing!

2018 UK Annual Rally - Kelmarsh Hall, 23rd/24th June

Glorious summer weather and a great turnout for our joint MMOC/MVA event at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire for the UK National Rally.  Great to see plenty of original 6/80 Club vehicles plus a good number of the recently joined ex-MCOC members & their vehicles to give us all something new to look at.  Thanks to everyone who came & made it a lovely event, especially to Rally Organiser David Ferguson & the MMOC Events Team.

The 6/80 & MO Oxford & Cowley Club Annual UK Rally

 will be held over the weekend of 23rd/24th June 2018 at

 Kelmarsh Hall, Main Rd, Kelmarsh, Northampton NN6 9LY, UK.

Pre-booking is best via our Events Secretary (contact details on web site), but you can turn up on the day - with or without your club car.  Hope to see you there.

C&SC Magazine Shoot at Blenheim Palace

Damp day out at Blenheim Palace on 12th March 2018 on a photo shoot for Classic & Sports Car magazine. My 4/50, Brian Holdsworth with the late Dave McHardy's 6/80, Tim Rouse's MO and Pete Wheeler's MS. MM provided by Graham Holt of the MMOC. Article due out later in the year, celebrating the Nuffield cars introduced at the 1948 Motor Show.
